Full planning permission has been granted to sympathetically restore, convert and alter the remaining structure of the grade II listed Mill with attached former "Mill Manager" cottages. This will provide 18 brand new residential dwellings comprising: two cottages, one flat, one maisonette and fourteen apartments within three blocks.
Access to the site is via the gated entrance to Bath Mill set back off Ravensdale Road. Documents state the ‘replica’ mill will be based on the footings of the previous mill building, adjacent to the iconic chimney and the River Maun. All that remains of the former mill are the outline footprints of the building, part of the demolished building, the remaining structure of the former cottages and the large, free-standing red chimney.
The mill formerly stood on the site as
a four storey sandstone water powered textile mill (later converted to a hosiery mill) which dated
back to the 1820s. The mill ceased operation in 1984 and has unfortunately laid derelict since this time, a victim of deterioration and vandalism as a result of its non-use and adverse weather conditions over the years. The northern section of the site is overgrown.
The private access road to the site is situated between two rows of existing dwellings and is
approximately 70m in length, boarded on both sides by mature trees and hedges with a retaining wall forming the boundary between the site and the adjacent allotments.

The site lies to the east of the town centre of Mansfield, a large market town offering a wealth of shopping facilities, services and amenities to support new residential development.
Although the site is within practical walking distance of the town centre, there is also a local bus stop at the entrance to the site which runs regular services to the town centre.
Mansfield Railway Station runs a half-hourly service to Nottingham Monday to Saturday and is situated within a mile of the site.
